CATON’S WALK
1028 33RD STREET NW | WASHINGTON, DC | 2003 – 2005

As a critical part of the Caton’s Walk project, a combination of retail and office uses were included to complement recent improvements to Georgetown’s Cady’s Alley. The alley, which runs from 33rd to 34th Streets less than a block south of M Street, is accessible only to pedestrian traffic from Georgetown proper. The alley’s recent revitalization has created a high-end retail and pedestrian corridor, providing a pocket of calm from the buzz of M Street. Contributing to the flourishing mixed-use community of retail and residential buildings, Caton’s Walk anchors the East end of the alley and marks the crossing of the C & O Canal as one travels from M Street to the Georgetown Waterfront. Ground floor retail and second floor offices within the historic masonry structure contrast with the added metal and glass residential penthouse to bring a new vibrancy to this burgeoning corner of Georgetown.
