Born and raised in Washington, DC, David Coxson relocated to his hometown after working at Ennead Architects in Manhattan for four years. Mr. Coxson’s design approach stresses conceptual clarity and a keen attention to detail with the goal being to develop a memorable sense of place. Having worked on numerous award-winning buildings, he understands that a successful and environmentally-responsible project requires intense collaboration and is one that results in a space which heightens the lifestyle and life view of the inhabitants. Mr. Coxson believes that sustainability is the baseline for the architecture and construction industries and is dedicated to incorporating it into his design work.

Mr. Coxson received his Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University, where he majored in art and art history, and his Master of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Prior to graduate school, his career began at the National Gallery of Art where he was an exhibition designer within the Design and Installation Department. This opportunity allowed him to closely examine the relationship between art and architecture, which is a key theme throughout his architectural activities.
