David Coxson, AIA, is a principal of Cunningham | Quill Architects with nearly twenty years of experience in residential, urban infill, adaptive reuse, historic preservation, institutional, and mixed-use commercial architecture. Leading Cunningham | Quill's Charlotte office, Mr. Coxson's design approach stresses conceptual clarity and a keen attention to detail with the goal being to produce timeless architecture and a memorable sense of place. Having designed numerous award-winning buildings, he understands that a successful and environmentally-responsible project requires intense collaboration with clients and all project partners. No matter the project type or scale, Mr. Coxson is passionate about the impact well-executed and considerate architecture can have on families, communities, and cities as a whole.

Mr. Coxson received his Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University, where he majored in art and art history, and his Master of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Prior to Cunningham | Quill, Mr. Coxson worked in New York City as an  Architect at Ennead Architects (formerly Polshek Partnership Architects).
