FALLS CHURCH GATEWAY

Project Description

As part of the City’s North Washington Street Corridor revitalization effort, this new Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) includes neighborhood-serving retail, office and residential housing types oriented around a pedestrian-friendly village green. The project will include approximately 71,000 sf of class-A office/retail space, 35,200 sf of residential townhomes, and 197,000 sf of mixed-use residential condominiums with 7,000 sf of ground-floor commercial space, all with below-grade parking. Located at the eastern gateway to the City of Falls Church, this new neighborhood center responds sensitively to its context by stepping down to an adjoining neighborhood and by breaking down the scale of the project into multiple buildings and uses. Consistent with the City’s planning goals, the project seeks to create a sense of place with a positive pedestrian experience, a sensitive transition from commercial to residential areas, and to improve the architectural quality of this strategic commercial corridor. The project has been recognized  for it sensitivity to adjacent neighborhoods and the long term goals of the city and the region.
