HONEYWELL

Project Description

The renovation and addition to this mid-century brick colonial house posed the challenge of synthesizing the original house with an existing 1990’s addition and a new attic level, while creating a harmonious space. Cunningham | Quill employed a contemporary solution through extensive interior and exterior renovations and a dramatic curved roof replacement.

The addition above the garage contains a new master suite, dressing closet and master bath. The existing roof was removed and replaced, creating a lofty open space for a study, guest room, and exercise area that offers panoramic views of the rear yard from the attic level.

On the ground floor, the architects reoriented the kitchen to enhance the connection to the back yard and the main living spaces. The resolution of interior spaces improved circulation, flow, and layout in the kitchen, family room, and breakfast area. Comprehensive replacement of trim, paint, hardware and fixtures throughout the house create a consistent, contemporary identity.
