Andy Entis is an architectural designer at Cunningham | Quill Architects. He holds a Master of Architecture from Rice University and a B.S. in Architecture with a Minor in Urban Design from Washington University in St. Louis. He is deeply committed to shaping better cities and places. His academic work explores architecture’s connection to broader issues including energy and housing policy. His Master’s thesis focused on strategies to gradually transform low-density suburban typologies into higher-density urban forms.
While at Rice University, he contributed to Cite Magazine, served as Co-President of the Architecture Graduate Student Association, and served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the 13th issue of PLAT Journal, titled “Alchemy.” He also received the Thomas and Barbara McKittrick Award for Service and the John T. Mitchell Traveling Fellowship, which he used to research Norwegian Urbanism. He worked as an Instructional Assistant and as a Research Assistant, contributing to the production of the publications Inverse Utopia and Radical Atlas of Ferguson, USA.
