This plan provided guidelines to transform a disconnected, asphalt-dominated environment into a new urban-focused landscape anchored by greenspaces that address stormwater issues and create a sense of place for the area through more conscience connections to the Accotink Creek and re-imagined Fairfax Circle.

Recommendations were made to address major stormwater issues by creating a more sustainable neighborhood linked to the Accotink Creek, re-design a dangerous traffic circle into a safe, more traditional intersection and identity-driver, leverage multimodal connectivity across the site and to surrounding neighborhoods, and create a more economically vibrant mixed-use area particularly along the Creek.
