DOWNTOWN PUBLIC REALM PLAN
Cunningham Quill Architects leading the urban design component in collaboration with Gehl Architects and other partners, led the re-imagination of downtown Washington, D.C. in response to the pandemic with the DC Office of Planning and Mayor Bowser. Grounded in the historic L’Enfant Plan, the effort transforms public space into a vibrant, safe, and active environment and establishes four catalytic projects for downtown DC

Charrette Workshops and Walking Tours
To support a vision for a “people-first” downtown the team created the plan through a series of walking tours, design charrettes, and workshops with the community, DC governmental agencies, local businesses, the downtown BIDs, and others.
